Türk Eğitim Vakfı is a non-profit organization working to improve the education sector in Turkey. It is one of the oldest and the largest educational foundations in Turkey providing national and international scholarships and educational programs to students.
The Turkish Education Foundation was founded in 1967 by Vehbi Koç, a Turkish entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of the Koç Group, and 205 other businesspersons with the mission of providing equal educational opportunities for every student. Today, the Foundation continues its operation with its 14 branches in 14 different cities in Turkey.
Since 1967, TEV has been working to improve students' financial, academic, and psychological conditions and to enable them to continue their academic life more competently. The foundation provided more than 250.000 students with both national and international scholarships and enlarged its impact through the TEV Academy and Mentorink. These scholarships include technical and vocational high school scholarships, undergraduate scholarships, Masters and Doctorate scholarships, scholarships for abroad studies, scholarships for female students to afford dormitories, merit-based scholarships, and TEVITOL (TEV Inanc Turkes High School for Gifted Students, a boarding school for gifted students) scholarships.
TEV also provides scholarships for students with special needs, who desire to have equal educational opportunities, despite the challenges they face. In natural and human-made disasters, for instance, earthquakes and mine explosions, TEV is providing support to the local students and educational constructions affected by the disaster.
Beyond scholarships, TEV provides a variety of additional programming and support services. TEV has built more than 20 schools that have been transferred to the Ministry of Education.
