Event description
The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) Ride Ajman is back and takes place on the 7 April 2017 in Ajman. Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of ATDD & Department of Lands and Properties, the first-class cycling event has expanded to a 104km route with full road closures starting on the Ajman corniche and making its way across the Emirate.
Three exciting new developments for 2017
The Ride Ajman will have over 600 enthusiastic riders taking part on the 7th April around the streets and landmarks of Ajman. The ride is made up of a 104 km and 52 km ride, on a looped city route. As the ride is for individuals and amateurs and to ensure safety of all the only vehicles that will be allowed on the streets will be the official vehicles. No team vehicles will be permitted for any group of cyclists. There will be of course official support and police vehicles and water stations strategically positioned along with full medical and sweeper vehicles in attendance.
Ramada Beach Hotel will host a Ride Ajman BBQ on 6th April from 19:00
Three exciting new developments for 2017
- Cash prizes for the winners in the race categories totaling AED 138,000 ! (see below)
- A dedicated 52km UAE National Development Race for UAE Nationals to encourage interest and participation in the cycling and sporting journey.
- A 7km charity ride at 4pm on the same day and open to all cyclists, visitors, and residents who want to enjoy the event and the beautiful scenery Ajman has to offer. The proceeds of the charity ride will be donated to Al Jalila Foundation, the charity partner.
