Soroptimist International Club of Victoria is a part or Soroptimist International Global Volunteer Movement.
With 8,000 Members in 352 Clubs in 29 countries including Great Britain, Ireland and countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Malta, Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI), works at a local, national and international level to educate, empower and enable opportunities for women and girls.
Soroptimist International, which consists of Soroptimist International of the Americas, Soroptimist International of Europe, Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Ireland and Soroptimist International of the South West Pacific, is a global volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls. Our network of over 75,000 club members in 122 countries works at a local, national and international level to Educate, Empower and Enable opportunities for women and girls. Soroptimist International advocates for human rights and gender equality through education and empowerment. Although women and girls make up half of the population they are consistently discriminated against, and their human rights are often ignored. Soroptimist International is continuously working as a global voice to empower, educate and enable women and girls to ensure the realisation of gender equality.
Raising money for Supporting the improvement of the lives of women and children and equal opportunities
Our Club with 25 members, all women professionals, is in existence since 1994. We are registered as an association and are obliged to file a return and submit accounts every year to the Registrar of Association. Our members give service to improve the lives of women and children and the create equal opportunities.
